Crate

The Crate, often a unrecognized but important character in most games. I was astounished to find it hard to make simple crate. Instead of making just a rectangle and texture it i chose to extrude some extra planks to make it look a bit more interesting. Wooden crates are fun (oh RLY), but the next crate I make will have more of a interesting setting to exist in.

Lessons learned:
1. Never underestimate the crate :-)
2. The UV was the main problem. I should have duplicated more boards to gain resolution, and to save time
3. As a friend points out to me, the crate really don't need a 512 texture (as I first had). Gotta learn to spend my time and resources on things that NEED it.
4. A common sickness among graphical artists is that everything we produce must be absolutely stunning and detailed. I succumb to this sickness once on a while, sometimes on objects that really don't deserve to be so overworked.
5. To great detail on props that are a dime a dozen makes them stand out too much, when they should oftenly do the opposite.
